Metro Ai

Privacy Policy

Metro Ai (ai.metro) · Effective 8 October 2026 · Developer: RiseOn

Metro Ai tells you which metro station you are at, warns you if your train seems to be going the wrong way, and wakes you before your stop. It does all of this on your phone. We do not run a server that receives your location, and you do not need an account.

Network use

If network updates are enabled, the app downloads updated metro network data (stations, timetables, fares) about once a week. The request contains no personal data. Your internet provider and our file host see your IP address, as with any download. We do not use it to identify you.

If network updates are enabled, the app also checks for service notices (closures, short hours, new lines) every few hours. Like the data download, the request contains no personal data.

When you share a Google Maps short link into the app and the shared text holds no coordinates, the app opens that one link to read where it points. Nothing else is sent, and only links on Google's own addresses are opened. Buying a ticket on WhatsApp opens WhatsApp; the app sees nothing of that chat.

On phones that installed the app from Google Play, the app asks Google Play whether an update is available, and after a few trips may show Google Play's own rating sheet. Those requests are handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy; the app sends nothing of its own with them.

"Open in Maps", walking directions, "Bus, auto and other ways" and Wikipedia links open other apps or your browser with a station's position or page. They see what you open, as with any link.

Permissions

You can refuse any of these. The route planner, fares and station information work without them.

Sharing

We do not sell, share or transfer any data, because none reaches us. The app contains no advertising or third-party tracking code.

Your rights and deleting your data

We do not hold personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to share, correct or delete. To remove everything the app stored, use Settings → "Delete all my data", or uninstall the app. Step-by-step instructions are on the data deletion page.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can contact our grievance officer with any question or complaint. We acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.

Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Data sources

Network data: Open Transit Data Delhi (Department of Transport, GNCTD); © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); Wikipedia contributors (CC BY-SA 4.0); fare charts and timings published by the metro operators. These sources supply station and timetable information only. None of them receives anything from the app.

Changes

If a future version collects any data (for example, opt-in crowd-sourced train positions), we will update this policy and ask for your consent in the app before collecting anything. The effective date above changes with each update.
